The NIE is a special education program run by The Times of India for school children in various cities in the country. The primary aim is to inculcate the habit of reading, and its motto is “Learning for life”.

Workshops are conducted every week by professionals and are structured according to the age group. 

Besides weekly workshops NIE members take part in various Intra-School and Inter-School activities like – 'Art Contests', 'Tree Plantation', 'Spelling Bee', 'Fundamental - The Inter-School Quiz' or 'The Times Of India'.
